Chicago's Masar named WPS Player of WeekSoccer Betting Lines07/13/2010 - Bridgeview, IL (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Chicago Red Stars forward Ella Masar was named Women's Professional Soccer's Player of the Week for Week 13 on Tuesday after scoring a pair of goals. Masar scored the equalizer in a 1-1 tie against the Atlanta Beat and the first goal in a 2-0 victory against Sky Blue FC, as Chicago (4-5-5) extended its unbeaten streak to four games. The Red Stars have lost just one of eight games since Emma Hayes was dismissed as head coach in May and are 2-1-4 under Omid Namazi, who was hired in early June. The goals were the third and fourth in WPS for Masar. Masar's first two goals were scored in the victory that began Chicago's unbeaten streak, a 2-1 victory over the Boston Breakers on June 25. Masar is the second Red Stars player to win the Player of the Week award this year, joining Swedish forward Kosovare Asllani, who was honored in Week 7. Arizona, however, could not sustain their momentum and the Eagles took a 25-24 with 10:45 left to play in the fourth. The Cardinals, with the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance hanging in the balance, mounted a fourteen play, 72 yard touchdown drive that consumed 7:52 off the clock. Warner hit running back Tim Hightower on a short screen for the go-ahead, game clinching score that will forever live in Cardinal infamy.
